Perhaps distracting the mind by creating artwork, listening to great music, cooking a favorite dish or taking an evening stroll immediately after work will be the perfect way to stop stress in its tracks. Read a book full of positive and uplifting words that can be meditated up and recited, can help ease the mind back into a positive state. Controlling rosacea is a constant battle that must begin with the determination of the mind. There are ways to head off an outbreak before it gets a chance to “flair up’ completely. Take control of it before it gets out of hand.

Stress is a lot easier to put in its place when you have had a good night’s sleep. Being tired and sleep deprived has to be an epidemic. All work, no sleep can really wear you down, and cause unnecessary stress. This will not only bring bouts of stress, but create an unstable mental environment that will almost become impossible to control. The more tired you get the less rational and calm you become. Fighting through the day with a lack of sleep only leads to more stress and fatigue. You set yourself up for failure when you do not get enough rest. There may be reason it is called “beauty sleep”.

Just as we have learned with stress having the opposite effect, the idea behind yoga is to train the mind so that you become stronger, and capable of creating the life you want to live. Meditation is a simple way to control the pattern of thought while observing what is happening in the mind like an “innocent bystander”. This is a great practice to learn what thoughts “trigger” the stress. Meditation takes a little time to get used to and can be the most powerful mechanism used to control this skin condition. It can be practiced anytime, anywhere. Once the “observer” can see the thought come, it is easier to stare it down like a bull fighter and dominate it, until it retreats in fear.
